"5 Tips for Keeping Your Baby Cool During the Heatwave"

Updated: Jun 21

With the temperatures climbing up you might be struggling to think how to adjust your baby's clothes accordingly. It is important for babies not to overheat, but also you want them to stay warm enough to help them sleep through the night.

  1. Dressing you baby appropriately is the most important thing in order to ensure appropriate body temperature regulation. With our sleep product you get a dressing guide in order to help you eliminate the confusion.

As our product were designed by a Certified Sleep Consultant, we made your baby's safety our priority.

If your baby's bedroom stays around 22-23 degrees at night, one of our 1.0 TOG products paired with a short sleeved onesie would be a great fit for their night attire. Baby's between 3 and 12 months would comfortably fit in a Sleeping Bag. When for toddler from 12 months we offer a Sleeping Suit option, which will enable them to stay warm but also will accommodate their new skills such as crawling around or standing in the cot.

We offer £10 off for our first time customers. Browse our full collection here.

2. If you do not know the temperature of your baby's room we suggest investing in one of the baby room thermometers. They are equipped with a convenient colour code, which will help you to know if the room is too hot for your baby.

3. We know that cooling down the room is not always an option, this is why if it is the case in your house and the temperature going as high as 26 degrees, it is best to undress your baby down to just a nappy in order to avoid overheating.

4. In order to help keep the room temperature down, you can invest in some blackout blinds with heat resistant layer. Most of the travel blackout blinds come in black colour, which in summer leads to room getting even hotter. However, there are some on the market, which come with a reflective layer on the other side of the blind. It will help the room to stay cool during the day, especially if it is on the sunny side.

5. If you decide to keep the window open at night, you might want to relocate the white noise machine (if using one) closer to the window. It will help to block out the external noises and waking your baby up early in the morning.
